FAROFA KIND (1998) In August 1997 DFC did two gigs at Teatro Garagem - Brasilia/DF (for those who don't know, Teatro Garagem is considered the Rock Temple of Brasilia/DF). The first gig was on the 1st day of the month supported by three bands: Nocautekoice, Vernom Walters and Canela de Cachorro. The second gig was on the next day supported by Deceivers and Riska Bufa. The first show was recorded from an eight-channel soundboard by Rodrigo Castanho and this recording became Farofa kind. (Rodrigo Castanho is a friend who was building his Utero Studio at this time) So far, nothing new. Eight months after the gigs, we decided to mix it and release it for all. It's kind of a normal decision isn't it? But mixing in eight-channels without any effects, makeup or overdubs to improve the "quality" nowadays, is it a very stupid thing, a bad taste or a lot of honesty??? Honesty for sure!!! These gigs wasn't scheduled to be a live album recording, but because in 5 years of existence, DFC could not manage to book gigs in many places, so release a live album is kind a solution for it, by this way many people who couldn't saw DFC on stage can hear us, at least. We're not releasing a a money grabbing record, this is a compilation of all DFC's history until now. By the day of this concert, two DFC albums has been released: "Tchan Nan Nan Nan Nan" in April 94 and "Igreja Quadrangular do Triângulo Redondo" in December 96. We got songs also in two compilations "Play It Loud" in January 95 and "Chute na Oreia" " in June 95. All this stuff are summarized in "Farofa Kind" (26 DFC songs, 3 covers, actually it would be four and a few more songs but the record-tape ended right when we was playing that song from the band we think is the great of all times, we ripped off the cover, the album's title and the idea of releasing an alive recording without overdubs: D.R.I.). In addition to the 29 songs (or 30 for the smart ones) there are also two studio tracks, a version of "Control" by Napalm Death sung in portuguese, recorded in 97 and a "classic rock" performed by Emerson (also for the smart ones). In despite of the poor quality and about thousand-fifths and one hundred and eleven mistakes on our live performance at this Farofa Kind, you can be sure, if you go to a DFC gig anywhere on earth, apart from the guaranteed fun, this is it what you will find.
